Mary Gayle Johnson

October 5, 1956 ~ June 9, 2019

Mary Gayle Johnson age 62, passed away from complications following a stroke on Sunday, June 9, 2019.

She was the youngest of nine children born on October 5, 1956 in Logan, UT to Joseph Hyrum Johnson and Lou Miles Johnson. She also had two half-sisters Miriam and Jolene.

Mary Gayle or Gay as she went by for all who knew her attended schools throughout the valley and graduated from Sky Vew High School in 1974.

Although she grew up in Young Ward she continued living and working in the Cache Valley. Sometime in the mid 80’s, she decided to make a big move to Texas. While there, she managed a trailer court and continued her career as a security guard until her retiring from Hines-Color Spot Nursery in 2017. She eventually made her way back home to Utah in April 2019, to be close to her family.

Her biggest love was for her beloved critters, big and small, that she accumulated throughout her life. All of these critters were her kids and she treated them as such. If they fit in her car they went everywhere with her.

Gay leaves behind her sisters: Bette Krambule and Kathy Hendrickson, her brothers: Robert and Phillip. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who also hold countless adventures and memories of times spent with aunt Gay. If you were privileged enough to be a part of her life and be her friend, you knew just how much she cherished the bond with you, and you held a special spot with her. As with her family and friends she leaves behind Brutis, Nicholas and Chewbacca, her four-legged critters that made the journey back home with her.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, one sister Ruby Lynn Vazquez, brothers: Paul, Richard and Brian, both half-sisters, brother-in-law Larry Krambule and two nephews: Joey and Gary Hendrickson.

Special thanks to the NCCU staff and doctors at the U of U Medical Center.

Private graveside services were held, with interment at Logan City Cemetery.

Forever and always a daughter, sister, auntie and friend. Its not goodbye, its we will see you again…
