Cyclists will ride up to 150 miles over two days in the annual Bike MS: Harmon’s Best Dam Bike Ride 2019. It will depart from the Cache County Fairgrounds on Saturday at 7 a.m. and loop 150 miles over two days. Bike manager Geoff Linville was our guest this past Thursday on KVNU’s For the People program, and said it is not a bike race.

“Bike M.S.: Harmon’s Best Dam Bike Ride is one of the states’ premium cycling events for charity and we’ve doing it for 33 years here. And it’s a bike ride not a bike race,” explained Linville. “We’re here to raise awareness for M.S., those living with M.S. and those families that are affected by M.S.

M.S. stands for Multiple Sclerosis and Linville said it is a disease that affects mostly the female population – 74 percent as opposed to 26 percent men. Most people diagnosed with M.S. are between the ages of 20 and 50-years-old.

It’s an unpredictable, often debilitating disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain and between the brain and the body. No two people experience the exact same symptoms and each person’s symptoms can change or fluctuate over time, from numbness and tingling to walking difficulties, fatigue, dizziness, pain, depression, blindness and even paralysis.”

Twelve-hundred-plus cyclists are anticipated to do the ride this weekend and those interested in participating can go to NationalMSSociety.org.  Linville said you can register for no cost as a virtual rider, too. More information can be found at BikeMSutah.org

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in October 2012, at the age of 44. I woke up one morning with numbness in my lower back and legs, I couldn’t feel my feet touching the floor. I saw my doctor and had an MRI to see if I had a disc problem, it was negative and she told me she feared MS. I was sent to a neurologist, had two more MRIs, and was told that night that I have four lesions on my spine MS. I tried every shots available but nothing worked. In 2015, my neurologist and I decided to go with natural treatment and was introduced to Organic Herbal Clinic natural organic MS Herbal formula, i had a total decline of symptoms with this treatment, the numbness, terrible back pains, stiffness, body weakness, double vision, depression and others has subsided. Visit Organic Herbal Clinic official website www. organicherbalclinic. com This treatment is a breakthrough for all suffering from Multiple sclerosis, i am strong again!
