Franklin County Fire Chief Randon Naegle said the fire reignited after some residents had been burning garbage Monday evening. Within minutes of being reported, flames spread to a nearby ash tree and then three out-buildings.

Crews from both Franklin County fire stations were paged to the fire. Three fire engines, one rescue crew, one tinder unit and a command crew helped fight the blaze.

Naegle said crews had the fire extinguished within 30 minutes. They spent two more hours putting out hot spots, and were cleared by 6:30 a.m.

The fire is estimated to have caused around $50,000 in damages.

Naegle said no one was injured in the blaze. Crews suspect the debris fire had not been put out sufficiently the night before.
