From raspberries to rodeos, we’ve got all the details about what’s happening this weekend

Bear Lake Raspberry Days

Bear Lake Raspberry Days takes place this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, but in a new location. The main festival and fair is at Heritage Park located at 300 West in Garden City (that’s where they have the big flag and fishing pond). There will also be a Garden City parade, Laketown rodeo, live concerts, a lighted boat parade and fireworks. That Famous Preston Night Rodeo

It’s also a big weekend in Preston as they host That Famous Preston Night Rodeo. It features three nights of rodeos starting at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It also includes the City of Fun Carnival, sidewalk sales, parades each day and a whole lot of fun. A full schedule of events can be seen here: http://www.prestonrodeo.com

Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre

This is the final weekend for Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre. It’s your last chance to catch Newsies, Mary Poppins, Marriage of Figaro, and West Side Story.

Lyric Repertory Company

Sadly, it’s also the final weekend for the Lyric Repertory Company. They’ll feature performances of Murder for Two, Clybourne Park, and Raisin in the Sun.

Music at the Logan Tabernacle

Music fills the Logan Tabernacle Thursday and Friday. 4 Hims barbershop quartet performs Thursday at noon, Celeste Carruth has performed all over the world with her violin and she’ll perform Thursday at 7, and then Jeff Karren will showcase the Logan Tabernacle organ on Friday at 12 noon.

Granger Smith at Cherry Peak

We’ve got a couple of opportunities to hear music in the mountains this weekend. Country music star Granger Smith, featuring Earl Dibbles, Jr., will perform at Cherry Peak Friday. Doors open at 5.

Canyon Jams

Or, you can head up to 2nd Dam in Logan Canyon for Canyon Jams. Mountain Country performs at 7, doors open at 6 Friday night.

May the Horse Be With You fun run

Get Saturday started with a 5K fun run for all ages starting at 7:30 a.m. Come dressed as your favorite sci-fi character at the May The Horse Be With You Fun Run, starting at Woodland Park in Logan, located at 500 West 700 South. The run is a fundraiser for Whispering Canyons.

Chalk Art in the Park

See amazing artists showcase their chalk art abilities at Elk Ridge Park in North Logan on Saturday. It’s free to the public and begins at 8 a.m.

Family First Saturday

It’s another first Saturday of the month, which means it’s Family First Saturday at USU’s Museum of Anthropology. This Saturday they’ll explore games from around the world and how they’re played. Games, History of Fun begins at 10 a.m.

Utah Ukulele Festival

The Utah Ukulele Festival takes place this Saturday at Willow Park. It’s a free, outdoor event that focuses on the music of the ukulele and the beautiful Polynesian culture. The festival begins Saturday at 10 a.m.

Cache Theatre Company FUNdraiser

Support Cache Theatre Company with a Frozen-style carnival on Saturday. It will feature carnival games, face painting, snow cones, bounce house and, of course, Elsa and Anna. It all takes place at the Utah Theatre starting at 10 a.m.

USU Alumni Band

The USU Alumni Band caps the weekend with a performance in the Daines Concert Hall Sunday at 7. The alumni band performs Cosmic Jazz in conjunction with the Small Satellite conference at USU.
