LOGAN — The sex abuse case against a 32-year-old Logan man may be finally resolved after defense attorneys said their client is ready to accept a plea deal. Aaron R. Robison was originally arrested in January 2018.

Robison’s defense attorney appeared in 1st District Court Monday morning. He explained that his client was at the hospital attending to a family emergency but that they were ready to accept a plea agreement from state prosecutors. The details of the deal were not disclosed.

Judge Thomas Willmore scheduled a change of plea hearing for August 12 and ordered the defendant to appear then.

Robison has four case pending against him. He is charged with one count of sodomy on a child, a first degree felony; two counts of sex abuse of a child and three counts of forcible sexual abuse, all second-degree felonies.

Prosecutors allege the assaults in two of the cases took place in the summer of 2010 and 2011. The two other cases reportedly took place between 2000 and 2002.

In July, Robison waived his right to a preliminary hearing, where prosecutors would have presented their evidence in the four cases. At that time, attorneys told Judge Thomas Willmore that they were attempting to work out a plea deal.

The cases have been delayed while attorneys had Robison, a former military service member, complete a psycho-sexual evaluation. The report was held up while attorneys worked with federal government officials to pay for the evaluation.

Robison is currently out of jail on pre-trial supervision, after posting $5,000 bail. He could face up to life in prison if convicted.

I cant believe a bail for man who is willing to hurt children was only $5K??!?! His behavior indicates he will reoffend and his history shows it. Come on Cache Valley let’s not be on the wrong side of history, let’s protect our children, our future. Make sure this man, nah this horrible excuse of a boy gets life and not a slap on the wrist. Like the many other pedophiles that live in this town. STOP PROTECTING THE PEDOS.
