He left Utah at this time to live with his Uncle Dallas and Aunt Rose in Los Angeles, California. There he graduated Morningside High School, class of 1958. During these years, he traveled many times to Panasonic headquarters in Osaka Japan. On one such visit, he was given an award by Panasonic’s owner and President for “His tremendous contribution to Panasonic’s dynamic growth in sales.”

In the mid 1980’s, Richard combined his passion for customer electronics with his past experience as an electrician, and started his own audio/video company. He and his crew sold and installed consumer electronics to commercial, restaurants, and home theaters to home owners. His likable personality and quick wit endeared him to many. His customers frequently became his friends and his friends frequently became his customers. His clients ranged from his own insurance agent to the President of Continental Airlines.

Richard was preceeded in death by his parents, Lorin and Margaret. He is survived by his four siblings, Sondra, Loretta, Berre, and Vicki, his three children, Paul Richard, Pamela Jane, and David Nels, and three three grandchildren, Michael Paul, Devan Jane, and Jane Lucie.
