LOGAN – Things are progressing as planned on Logan City’s Center Street in downtown Logan. On KVNU’s monthly “Speak to the Mayor” program, Logan Mayor Holly Daines said this has been a nearly two year endeavor to revitalize downtown. The first step is the Center Street project currently underway; the next step is what to do with the center block or the Emporium block.
“I would invite anyone that’s interested in downtown to come to city hall on Wednesday, September 25th at 5:30 p.m. It’s a public meeting open to anyone. We will show you some of the possibilities, again the specific designs aren’t set in stone. But we want some input from the public,” said Mayor Daines.
The mayor says she’s excited about the possibilities there. Daines also announced a new bus service by CVTD that will start next year.
“They’re calling it their Boomerang route, which is a fun name. It is going to…loop on Main Street from the Walmart at south Main to the Walmart at north Main and then also go up to (Utah State) university and university housing, and come down Main Street, have a new stop back by the library. But again, it will run more frequently, hopefully be more convenient (and) run later hours.”
She also reminded travelers that the third lane on Main between 400 North and 200 North has been eliminated because of safety concerns.
