Green Canyon and Sky View have swapped places in the latest Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) latest RPI rankings released on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019. Park City remains the top team in 4A, with the rest of the top 5 rounded out with Dixie, Sky View, Mountain View and Green Canyon.
Sky View dominated Ridgeline in week 6, 38-0, while Green Canyon fell to Mountain Crest in a defensive battle, 6-0. With the win, the Mustangs jumped three spots. And even though Ridgeline lost, they still moved up one spot in the rankings. Bear River stays steady in their ranking after defeating Logan 17-14, but the Grizzlies drop two places.
The Region 11 standings, with their over RPI rankings in 4A, are as follows:
- 3rd – Sky View (5-1)
- 5th – Green Canyon (4-2)
- 8th – Bear River (3-3)
- 10th – Ridgeline (2-4)
- 13th – Mountain Crest (2-4)
- 16th – Logan (1-5)
As a reminder, record in region play no longer matters when it comes to end-of-season rankings and playoff positioning.
The schedule this week for high school football will feature Green Canyon (5th) vs Bear River (8th), Logan (16th) vs Ridgeline (10th) and Mountain Crest (13th) vs Sky View (3rd).
In 5A, Box Elder dropped two spots to 18th after losing to Viewmont 20-15. On Friday, the Bees host Bountiful who is one spot lower in the rankings.
