LOGAN — A 19-year-old Heber City man has been arrested on suspicion of having sex with a teenage boy, after traveling to the valley to attend sex-offender treatment. Grant F. Johnson was booked into the Cache County Jail Wednesday afternoon.
According to an affidavit for Johnson’s arrest, the alleged victim disclosed to his parents that he and Johnson were having a sexual relationship. The two also had exchanged pornographic photos of each other through a social media app.
The teenage boy told deputies that he would ride his motorcycle to a remote location in the county and meet up with Johnson. The two would vape, using THC laced cartridges, and get high. They would then climb into the backseat of the suspect’s vehicle and engage in sexual activity.
Cache County prosecutors have charged Johnson has four counts of forcible sodomy, a first-degree felony; four counts of enticing a minor over the internet, a second-degree felony; and four counts of dealing in materials harmful to a minor, a third-degree felony.
The victim claimed Johnson would meet him on a regular basis, once or twice a month. The suspect was apparently traveling to Logan to attend psycho-sexual therapy.
Deputies questioned Johnson. He admitted to meeting up with the victim for sex. He said they also exchanged nude pictures of each other through Snapchat.
Court records show, in 2016 Johnson was convicted of having sex with the same teenage boy. Earlier this year he also pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony. He was scheduled to be sentenced later this month.
Johnson is being held in jail without bail. He could face up to life in prison if convicted on these new charges.
