LOGAN – Logan’s first mountain bike and BMX park is set to open next week.
The Grand Opening for the Bridger Bike Park, 1179 North 400 West, Logan is October 16 at 6 p.m.
Plans for the park began more than two years ago as “a direct result of some concerns that were expressed…by the people who use the skateboard park,” according to Logan City Council member Jeannie Simmonds, during a recent council meeting.
“They felt like the two-wheeled bicycles were making it more dangerous for the skateboarders. We will now have a dedicated space for two-wheeled tricksters,” she added.
The park includes trails and features designed to challenge cyclists of all skill levels.
The park is closed until the opening ceremony and residents are asked to refrain from riding until then.
The grand opening for the park was originally scheduled for Oct. 9, but due to inclement weather in the forecast (and the potential for snow in October) the grand opening celebration has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 16.
