LOGAN – The Cache County School District is hosting a Parent AWARE Night on Wednesday, Oct. 23rd at 6 p.m. At Cache High, located at 620 West 1200 North, parents and guardians can learn about suicide prevention, e-cigarettes and the potential harm they can create for children, and mindfulness tips for stress reduction. Resources will be available for Spanish-speaking families.
The district is also offering free youth mental health screening for students in grades 7-12 from 2-5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24. Screenings will take place at the district’s Legacy Campus, located at 2063 North 1200 East in North Logan and will address depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, substance abuse, and more. The free 30-minute screening is not a full psychological evaluation, as a clinical diagnosis will not be made. A parent or guardian will need to be present for the screening.
Before a screening can take place, students will need to first complete an online survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6S75LFP. A Spanish language survey is also available here: https://es.surveymonkey.com/r/62JZ37Y.
