It’s the Weekend: Oct. 24-27, 2019

Halloween is right around the corner and some people are celebrating early. We’ve got everything you need to know right here:

Trick-or-Treat Street

Bring your kids to learn trick-or-treat etiquette at Trick-or-Treat Street at the Smithfield Rec Center. Trick-or-Treat Street includes games, photo ops, a coloring contest and costume contests starting at 6 p.m. Friday.

Caregiver Burnout Prevention

It’s easy for caregivers to get burned out, and that’s why the Cache County Caregivers Coalition is presenting a workshop this Friday about Caregiver Burnout Prevention. It will be held at the Cache County Senior Citizens Center starting at 5:30 and includes a dinner.

USU Symphony Orchestra

The USU Symphony Orchestra once again celebrates the music of Spain and this week they’ll perform at the Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish. The concert is free, open to the public and begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Jay Owenhouse

Legendary escape artist and celebrated illusionist Jay Owenhouse visits the Ellen Eccles Theatre for one night only. Experience his grand illusions, great escapes and Bengal tigers Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

Logan Fall Home Show

Meet face to face with local and national professionals at the Logan Fall Home Show Friday and Saturday at the Cache County Events Center. See the latest in home design, renovations, home automation and more. Admission is free and doors open at 10 a.m. both days.

The Howl

Arguably the largest party in Northern Utah is this Friday night at USU: The Howl! Events begin at 8 p.m. in the Taggart Student Center and go until 1 a.m.

Halloween 5K and Kids Carnival

Start your day off Saturday morning with a Halloween 5K and Kids Carnival at Virgil Gibbons Heritage Park in Nibley. The fun begins at 9 a.m. and it’s a fundraiser for Little Lambs Foundation.

First Dam Scary Run

Or, you can run the First Dam Scary Run Saturday morning. You can choose to run a 5K or a 10K through the tree-lined streets of Logan beginning at 10 a.m. at First Dam Park.

Trunk or Treat

Come in your costume and be prepared to go home with a ton of treats, at the Trunk or Treat event at Young Toyota. It begins at 5 p.m. on Saturday and the massive trunk or treat benefits both the Logan and Cache County school districts.

Canyon Jams

And you can conclude your weekend at 2nd dam Saturday night with Canyon Jams. The final concert in the series features Mama Longlegs and the concert begins at 7 p.m.
