Local women’s clothing group supports cancer fighters

The Kassi-Darnee dress at Roolee is sold as a fundraiser for patients fighting cancer. All proceeds are donated to the Gossner Cancer Center and the Foundation for Women's Cancer.

LOGAN – A Cache Valley-based women’s clothing company, Roolee, recently presented a $12,500 gift to the Gossner Cancer Center at Logan Regional Hospital.

Savannah Niemann of Roolee said early this year the design team set out to design a dress to symbolize the inner and outer beauty of women who fight cancer.

”I am the design team manager here and my sweet mother-in-law has cancer,” Niemann explained. “Seeing her fighting it and seeing her struggle, she inspired the thought of how we can make a difference and impact and support and encourage women. So that inspired the whole concept.”

Roolee decided all proceeds from the sale of what is called the Kassi-Darnee dress would go to the fight against cancer.

“Because we have an online customer base, we wanted to be able to help out people locally as well as internationally because we have customers internationally. We donated half to our local cancer center as well as half to the women’s cancer fund that helps women across the United States.”

Logan Regional Hospital Administrator Brandon McBride accepted the check on behalf of the cancer center.

“This is a tremendous gesture of community support from the Roolee team,“ McBride said.“We are humbled and truly appreciative of this gift which will help us continue provide care for local cancer patients at the highest level.”
