LOGAN — Police have arrested a 21-year-old woman suspected of texting a bomb threat to her co-worker, leading to the temporary evacuation of ICON Health & Fitness. Brittany Valentine was booked Tuesday afternoon into the Cache County Jail on suspicion of making a threat of terrorism.

Logan City Police Chief Gary Jensen said an employee at the fitness company received the message Monday night. The “cryptic text” included a bomb emoji and said the explosive device would detonate shortly.

The employee showed the text to company managers who contacted law enforcement. The company facility was also evacuated for a time, until it was determined that the buildings were safe again to enter.

Jensen said officers were able to track the text message to Valentine. She later admitted to sending the message because she didn’t want to go to work.

Valentine is being held in jail without bail. Formal charges are expected to be filed later this week.

Are you actually saying, “Who cares?” about a bomb threat to one of the largest local companies in the valley? Rather shallow of you, don’t you think?

I know this girl, my daughter went to school with her. She was a troubled teen and has convictions in Ohio. I hope she straightens out her life. Maybe some serious jail time will set her on the right path. Praying for you Brittany!

As someone who worked in the same department as Brittany, every employee is under immense pressure from both the system and the irrate customer. One could say that even the call volume on Mondays are ‘Explosive’. I understood the sarcasm, and that poor girl did not need jail time for satirically talking about what the rest of her department is thinking. Mondays were the days that made me wonder if life was really worth living when I worked there. Praying for you, Brittany.
