Logan has dirtiest air in the state

LOGAN – As far as air quality this weekend, of all the reporting stations with current data for the Utah Department of  Environmental Quality (DEQ), Cache County had the highest PM2.5 reading. As of late Sunday morning, the county was in the ‘yellow’ to ‘orange’ range, and according to the DEQ website (air.utah.gov), residents are advised that solid fuel burning devices must not be used.

Open burning may not occur, including fire pits, fire rings, and campfires. And motorists are urged to reduce vehicle use by consolidating trips.

The National Weather Service said a fast-moving weak cold front is expected to move through Northern Utah late tonight into early Monday. This might bring cleaner air temporarily. But high pressure is expected to build back in for the remainder of the week.
