Valerie Cooper Richmond

April 21, 1951 ~ February 28, 2020 – (age 68)

Valerie L. Richmond of West Valley City, Utah, died Friday, February 28, 2020 at Rocky Mountain Rehab of Logan. She was born in Glenwood Springs, Colorado and raised in Spokane, Washington.

She later moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she began her family. She worked as a Secretary and later became an Agent Assistant at Adult Probation and Parole until she became disabled. She frequently loved to do needlepoint and other craft related projects in her spare time as well as spend time in the temple.

She enjoyed spending time with her family which consisted of her five children; Alan (Shelley) Richmond, Jared Richmond, Rhonda (Nathan) Dzeirzon, Kambra Bott, and Nick (Yolande) Richmond, and seventeen grandchildren (Jordan, Dakota, Haley, Julian, Elisabeth, Johnathon, Nathan, Kendra, Olivia, Lyllian, Christopher, Trystan, Zynnia, Kayden, Alyssa, Bryar, and Cassiya) as well as three great-grandchildren (Addison, Kara, Brayden).

She is preceded in death by her granddaughter Kendra, her sisters; Sharon and Sheryl, her brother David, and her parents David M. and Laura. She is survived by her five children, sixteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and her brothers Gordon and John.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 11:00am in the Granger 15th Ward Chapel, 2835 South 2855 West, West Valley City, Utah, 84119. Viewings will be held Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00pm and Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:30am both at the church. Graveside dedication will follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84106.
