Nibley Elementary principal dies from complications associated with COVID-19

NIBLEY – The principal of Nibley Elementary School has passed away after battling the effects of COVID-19 for nearly five weeks. Kelly Rindlisbacher was an educator in the Cache County School District for many years before becoming a principal.

“The Cache County School District is deeply saddened by the loss of a family member, friend, and fellow educator, Kelly Rindlisbacher, principal of Nibley Elementary School,” the school district stated in a release late Friday. “We want to express our heartfelt sympathy to Kelly’s family, especially his wife, Lori, and their children.

Kelly was an exceptional, dedicated educator with a long career in our district. He will be greatly missed by his Cache County School District family.”

The Providence resident was in intensive care at Ogden’s McKay-Dee Hospital since early July. It is not believed that he contracted the virus while in any capacity as an educator or administrator.

Rindlisbacher also served previously as a bishop in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was currently serving as a Stake Clerk in the Providence Stake.

Details of his funeral have not yet been announced.

Kelly will be so missed but he is at rest now. I will never forget his jovial spirit and his love for prankster activity among the staff at Wellsville Elementary. Rest In Peace my friend.

He was my 6th grade teacher several years ago. Truly sorry to hear of his passing.

Kelly was so much fun to be around! He made our school, Wellsville Elementary, a happy place to be. I will never forget his cardboard Elvis that he would hide in strategic places to scare us!! He will forever have a special place in my heart!! ?

My years working with Kelly were some of the best. He was fun, kind, caring and completely irreplaceable! His wonderful smile and ability to make you feel special was so genuine. We are heartbroken over his loss. Our love and support go out to his family.

So, so sad to hear this news! Kelly was our bishop years ago and blessed our family with his service! Our prayers are with you and your children Lori. May you find peace and comfort at this difficult time.

Condolences to the family. He does look like he has underlying health problems. Skin color and weight is off. I don’t believe it is a covid death. Sad but shouldn’t be counted as covid.

DeeDee you should be ASHAMED of this comment and delete it. How dare you pretend to be able to diagnose someone based on a photo. How should it not count as A COVID death if he had Covid? You are obviously not a medical professional or have basic understanding of this disease.
Yours is a terrible comment and I hope his family and friends never see it.

Shame on you! How about you post your picture so we can judge you as well!!!

Seriously, friend?! You read a newspaper article and look at a photo and can determine cause of death better than his medical providers?!

Wow, You are a piece of work. this man just passed in a small community where he positively affected generations of people living here. Then you want to come here a politicize it. You should just relegate your posting to Fox news. How he passed doesn’t matter, the fact that he was such a positive influence does. He will be missed.

Deedee – You a sad person. Who comments like that? Sorry you have so much judgmental hate in your heart.

  • Mhansen August 9, 2020 at 9:55 am Reply

What an incredibly insensitive thing to say at this time. Somebody just lost their husband, father, brother… I knew Kelly and his loss will be felt immensely! My heart goes out to his wonderful family!

  • Mable August 9, 2020 at 12:21 pm Reply

DeeDee, extraordinarily insensitive and thoughtless conjecture.

Now that you all got the anger out of your system, get some exercise and make sure your skin color is healthy and you are at a good weight for a healthy body.

    • Shell Bell August 9, 2020 at 7:44 pm Reply

I hope you, or someone you love doesn’t get infected. I don’t think you can exercise it away. Just look at how many professional athletes have tested positive for Covid. You have no idea what the circumstances are regarding Kelly…or even know what his health was, or wasn’t. How dare you judge someone based off of a photo!

Deedee, I don’t even need to see a picture of you to know you are HIDEOUS! A disgusting excuse for a human. Sociopaths have lack of empathy, too. So, I guess it’s safe to say that you’re no better than any killer or pedo.. just based off your comments I KNOW that about you. (See how assumptions work?!?)

    • Prince Albert August 10, 2020 at 9:52 am Reply

I love it when people like GMill project.

Deedee – This was beautiful man and his life deserves to be honored, not judged by strangers. Please reflect on the impact your comment would have on his friends and family. While I believe this should be a forum to reflect and share memories of a great man, I do think it is appropriate for you to be called out for your senseless and cruel comment. It is easy to hide behind a computer screen isn’t it? I could say some extremely hateful things towards you because I am truly disgusted. Instead, I will say RIP Kelly – thank you for every contribution you gave to this world, your students, your church and your family.
