Joyce Campbell Redd was born July 28, 1934 in Providence, UT and passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 25th, 2022 in Logan, UT. Joyce was the 6th child born to parents Hyrum Alma Campbell and Ivy Pickett.

Joyce had a wonderful childhood growing up in Millville and then moving to their family home in Logan in 1944. Joyce had many lifelong friends from the Logan 2nd ward and they celebrated each year with a get together at the park every June until 2019 when there was just a few left to celebrate with. Joyce participated in Drama at Logan High and loved planning, performing and directing Road Show’s with her ward and friends. It was at one of these Road Shows that her future husband Chester first saw Joyce. Chester F. Redd of Blanding, UT and Joyce Campbell were married on August 11th, 1955 in the Logan Temple and they Honeymooned at Disneyland 3 weeks after it opened.

Chester and Joyce were blessed with 4 children whom they deeply loved and cared for. The family lived in Kearns, Bountiful and in 1971 they moved back to her childhood home in Logan to care for Joyce’s father until his passing. The family moved to their home in North Logan on July 4th, 1976 where they lived for the next 45 years raising their family. During this time, Joyce lovingly cared for and tended children in her home for over 25 years. She loved the children she took care of and reminisced the rest of her life with stories of their adventures together. She loved to read books, sew and do her “wordsearchers”. Joyce loved sewing beautiful dresses for her daughters, granddaughters and their baby dolls. Chester and Joyce loved to travel and had many wonderful trips to Maine, Branson, Jackson Hole, Florida and Hawaii. Chester and Joyce had many close friends in their their neighborhood and ward in North Logan whom they loved and cherished.

Joyce was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and she loved her Savior Jesus Christ and the gospel. Her love of her family and the gospel meant everything to her. She served in both the Primary and Relief Society organizations throughout her life.

Chester passed away in October of 2015 and Joyce has missed him greatly. She continued to be happy though and enjoyed many wonderful parties, car rides and meals with her family. As her health began to decline last summer, Joyce moved to Birch Creek Assisted Living in Smithfield. She loved living in her new home and was loving cared for there. She especially grew to love Andrea Schenk who was her nurse while there. She mentioned several times that she felt like she had gained several new “grandchildren” because of the loving and caring staff at Birch Creek. The family is so grateful for the love and service shown to Joyce from her friends and neighbors of the North Logan 13th ward and the staff at Birch Creek.

Joyce has been patiently waiting for her mortal journey to end and to be reunited with her loved ones but was so excited to see her newest great grandchild who was born in February of this year. It brought her so much joy to see and hold him and she cherished that moment.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband Chester, Granddaughter Ashley Hamza, Great Granddaughter Cambry Eddington, 3 brothers Max Campbell, Dean (Florence) Campbell, Lyle (Evelyn) Campbell and sisters Donna (Roy) Croshaw and Afton (Don) Welling.
