Sky View student selected for scholarship

Sky View student was selected out of over 2,500 entries for Zion's Bank's Pays for A's.

SMITHFIELD —Sky View High School ninth grade student Dawson Summers is the latest recipient of Zions Bank’s Pays for A’s scholarship.

“I was super excited,” Summers said. “I was surprised to get it.”

Summers was entered into the drawing by submitting his report card to Zion’s Bank where he was paid $1 for each “A” and an entry for the drawing.

Summers was 1 of 18 students randomly selected throughout Utah and Idaho out of over 2,500 entries.

For nearly two decades, Pays for A’s has rewarded thousands of students across Utah and Idaho who put in the effort to make their grades count.

Zion Bank Smithfield Branch Manager Lynn Godderidge presented Summers as a regional winner of the spring Pays for A’s drawing and a $500 savings account.

“We know it takes extra attention and effort to earn high marks,” Godderidge said. “We’re proud to recognize the achievements of students like Dawson through the Pays for A’s program.”

Summers said students in Cache Valley should submit their report cards and enter in the drawing.

“Get good grades and submit them,” Summers said. “You get a chance to earn money.”
