Over the years Lynn Myers and Tony Martinez Sr. have become friends and because of that friendship Ed Parker is coming to do a karate seminar in Logan Saturday May 21, 2022.

LOGAN – Ed Parker Jr, a well-known American Kenpo style Karate instructor, is coming to Logan on Saturday, May 21st to demonstrate and teach his techniques to local martial arts enthusiasts.

The event will be held at the dojo at Kubex Fitness located at 920 N. 200 W. Suite 110 in Logan.

Local Karate Master Lynn Myers, an eighth degree blackbelt is hosting the event. Meyers has studied and taught martial arts for over 41 years. He also holds a Red Belt (Master’s Belt) in Chiryoku Rikiji and a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Chung Do Kwan Tae Kwon Do.

“This is really a big deal,” said Evelyn Liebes, who organized the event. “We are expecting at least 25 black belts to be there.”

Parker learned his skills form his father, the famous Ed Parker who created the American Kenpo style and taught it to celebrities like Elvis Presley, Bruce Lee, and others.

“Lynn and Ed have a long relationship, but this is the first time they have actually worked together in person,” Liebes said. “Ed can’t do all of the seminars requested of him, but he chose this one. He and Lynn are such good friends.”

Parker will be in Logan on Saturday, May 21st to hold the seminar for students of Kenpo Karate martial arts.

This is a rare opportunity for those involved in Kenpo and is of intertest both nationally and internationally as Ed Parker, Jr. is well-known throughout the world and rarely holds seminars/classes that are open to the public.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for any martial artist to meet and learn from one of the best close combat practitioners in the world.

The classes will start at 9:30 a.m. and go until 11 a.m. for beginners and conclude with a Brown and Black Belt instruction from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.

All students will be in their full Gi uniforms and a fairly large turnout is expected, especially for the Brown and Black Belt class.

This is the first time a Ed Parker has taught a Kenpo seminar in Utah.
