LOGAN — A 29-year-old Logan man has pleaded guilty to multiple crimes including possession of child pornography. Skyler Scott Ralphs was arrested in June after evading law enforcement for six months.

Ralphs appeared in 1st District Court Monday afternoon. He accepted a universal plea deal, pleading guilty to two counts of knowingly producing child pornography, a second-degree felony; possession of a controlled substance, a third-degree felony; and, attempted aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a dangerous weapon, both class A misdemeanors.

Prosecutors explained how Ralphs was originally arrested after using a pocket knife to threaten another individual in July 2020. Nine months later, he was arrested again in possession of methamphetamine.

In November 2021, a judge issued a warrant for Ralphs’ arrest after he failed to appear in 1st District Court.

Earlier this year, Logan City Police officers received a cybertip, describing how Ralphs was using a Google account to share child pornography. The files were of female children, ranging in age from 4 to 12-years-old.

Police and probation agents tracked Ralphs to a Lewiston home after he had reportedly returned to the state. He was taken into custody without incident.

Ralphs spoke only briefly during Monday’s court appearance. He waived his rights to a fair trial and pleaded guilty to the charges.

As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors dropped nine remaining charges.

Ralphs remains in the Cache County Jail. He is scheduled to be sentenced October 17 and could face up to 15 years in prison.
