Cytiva Top of Utah Marathon named official USA Track and Field -Utah Marathon Championship Race

LOGAN—Hundreds of runners and their supporters will be in downtown Logan for the Cytiva Top of Utah Marathon this Saturday, Sept. 17. Final registration will end at 7 a.m. and the race begins at 7:10 a.m. The Cytiva Top of Utah Marathon named official USA Track and Field – Utah Marathon Championship Race this year.

Race organizers were excited about the new designation and are gearing up for a record number of participants.

Packets can be picked up at race headquarters, Anderson’s Seed & Garden, at 69 West Center Street on Logan’s historic Center Street between 12 noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16 and on race day from 6 a.m. until 7 a.m.

Support and hydration stations staffed by volunteers will be along the course with single serving hydration and nutrition packets. Restrooms will be sanitized after each use and medical assistance provided by Logan Regional Hospital-trained staff.

This race is an official Champion RCW Utah division of the United States of America Track and Field.

The Top of Utah Marathon transitioned in 2019 from the Blacksmith Fork Canyon, Hardware Ranch start to Merlin Olsen Park Finish, to the new downtown Logan start and finish. The new downtown Logan location also includes a 20K, 10K Trail Race, and The Family Place 5K Charity Run.

The marathon is a USA Track and Field certified course and is the flattest marathon in Utah. Runners enjoy little or no traffic, and it has a near zero race grade.

The course offers an open and quick route throughout the west-side of beautiful Cache Valley starting from Center Street in downtown Logan and runs through College Ward, Young Ward and Mendon before returning to Center Street in Downtown Logan.

With 18 age division categories, and over $4700 in prize money available to top finishers, officials hope to attract some of the state’s to top runners.

The Logan Downtown Alliance, owner of the Top of Utah Marathon, tries to create experiences in Downtown Logan for guests, visitors, spectators, and athletes.
