LETTER: Weary of the blame game

Jill Zollinger has claimed that the County Executive has made unauthorized expenditures without any details. I find this hard to believe. Further, for years the county executives were water boys/girls for the council. Easy to shift the responsibility to them without accountability.

I’m weary of this political wrangling, but more weary of the blame game. It’s bad enough at the federal level. Do power plays have to reach here, too?

There are only two counties in Utah who have our current form of check and balance government. Separation of power is always accompanied with differences. And as far as I can tell, the differences should be public. But with facts instead of innuendo offering voters legitimate choices instead more federal level dirty politics.

On balance I see more reason to vote for Zook. I’d like the electorate to be more informed with facts regarding allegations. I, for one, am thrilled that the shrill voices of two council members will be gone at the first of the year. Then let’s see how differences are worked out between Zook and the council.

Balance of power is good for voters. An overbearing council with a weak Executive is not what’s the voters chose when we adopted this form of government.

So, three out of seven don’t care for Zook. I did not see any facts of any sort in this letter. I have no idea, who I will vote for, but where is the actual impropriety? I can easily see Trumps impropriety and Mike Lee’s groveling like wormtail to him. I am just not seeing any reason to not vote for Zook. Wasn’t there supposed to be some bombshell audit, or did it turn out like Durhams Russia probe? Give me some meat or offer me some cheese with you whine.

Jim, did you go beyond the letter to the 73 pages of attached documents? Did you look at the Box Elder Police report that showed Zook’s claims against Borup were false? Did you look at the email he composed to try and remove Borup from office, and later tried to cover up? Did you read about the attempts to spend money without the council’s approval? Did you read about how councilwoman Gina Worthen had to step in and save CC taxpayers from a million dollar expenditure that was not in the budget? This is the meat with your whine. Also, it is my understanding that the forensic audit will not be finished for several months.
