SANDY – A former Hyde Park resident and Utah State University graduate Terry Camp was recently hired as Vice President of Public Policy for the Utah Farm Bureau Federation (UFBF).

Terry Camp was recently hired as Vice President of Public Policy for the Utah Farm Bureau Federation.

“I am excited to be working here at the Utah Farm Bureau, where I can help implement policy that creates an environment where Utah agriculture can thrive,” Camp said. “After some great experiences in Washington, D.C., I’m happy to be back home in Utah, and look forward to getting to know our members and the issues important to them.”

Utah Farm Bureau is the largest general farm and ranch organization in the state with more than 34,000 member families.

Camp will work with Wade Garrett, Vice President of Strategic Relationships & Advocacy, on representing and implementing Utah Farm Bureau policy at the national, state, and local levels, assisting County Farm Bureaus in policy development, and strengthening relationships between farmers & ranchers and elected officials.

“We are excited to welcome Terry to the Farm Bureau family and know he will have a great impact at representing our policy and the issues critical to Utah agriculture,” said Spencer Gibbons, Chief Executive Officer for UFBF. “He comes with great experience working on public lands and natural resources issues. He will be a great help with our policy efforts throughout the state.”

After serving a volunteer mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Concepción, Chile Camp studied at Utah State University and graduated in 2011 with a B.A. in Political Science. He later received a master’s degree in Public Policy from George Mason University.

Camp has experience in local, state and federal politics and government. While studying at Utah State, Camp interned for former Congressman Rob Bishop and later worked for Senator Hatch’s 2012 reelection campaign.

While working for the Hatch campaign, he was selected as one of six Presidential Electors for the State of Utah. Camp was hired to work in Senator Hatch’s Washington, D.C. office, and then for former Chairman Bishop on the House Committee on Natural Resources Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands for nearly eight years.

The Cache Valley native and his wife, Kayla, have a 20-month-old boy and a dog named Luna. Camp is an avid Utah State sports fan. He also enjoys ice skating, reading, attending concerts and traveling.
