According to emergency radio traffic, the motorhome was travelling through the canyon and pulled off of the highway when the occupants detected the fire. First crews on the scene reported flames completely engulfing the vehicle.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cade Brenchley said the driver of the motorhome told troopers he was heading through the canyon when he began to feel immense heat coming from the floorboards. The vehicle then lost all power and several warning lights appeared on the dashboard.

Troopers reported the fire was not threatening any structures but flames began spreading to brush along the shoulder of the highway and up the hillside.

Traffic in both directions was blocked while emergency crews responded to the fire.

Fire fighters from Logan and Garden City both were paged to the blaze. They were able to keep the fire from spreading.

The motorhome was completely destroyed. No injuries were reported.
